Queen Mary 2

Queen Mary 2, or QM2 as she is affectionately known, is Cunard Line's flag ship and arguably the grandest ocean liner ever built.  Since her launch in 2004 when she was named by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, she has been voted "Best Luxury Ship" by readers of Travel Weekly magazine each year. She combines the most modern amenities with the refined, sophisticated ambience for which Cunard is known.

With her unique design as an ocean liner, Queen Mary 2 is able to glide through the waves as you cross the Atlantic, while you enjoy the amenities onboard.

The bookshop next door offers the perfect present for bibliophiles, Cunard and Queen Mary 2 souvenir books, post cards and other souvenirs.

Throughout the ship you will find exhibits on 10 "pathways" that explain Cunard's part of seafaring history.  You'll learn about the company's history, its celebrity and royal passengers, life onboard for the crew and the wide variety of Cunard ships since the companies founding.

Swimming Pools

When the weather is nice, enjoy one of the outdoor swimming pools on the aft of the ship, overlooking the wake.  But this is the Atlantic, so if it is cloudy, enjoy the indoor pool and whirlpools.

Other activities

There is so much to do on Queen Mary 2: art auctions, cooking demonstrations, an art gallery of famous masters, lecturers, first-run films, bridge and a golf simulator with 51 of the world's best courses.

But sometimes it is just nice to do nothing at all - just lounge in the privacy of your suite or stateroom, or find a comfortable spot in one of the many areas of the ship and watch the waves....   Life is good!
